Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen emphasized Greenland is not for sale, despite President-elect Trump’s calls to acquire it.

Frederiksen’s comments to Danish TV followed Donald Trump Jr.’s visit to Greenland on Tuesday. The trip was personal, with no meetings with officials.

In an interview, Frederiksen highlighted Greenlandic Prime Minister Múte Egede’s clear stance. Greenland is not for sale and won’t be in the future.

Frederiksen told TV 2 that Greenlanders will choose their own future. She praised the U.S. as a key Danish ally.

On Monday, Trump claimed Greenlanders support his “MAGA” agenda. He shared a video of a Greenlander asking the U.S. to buy Greenland.

Trump Jr. arrived Tuesday in Nuuk, Greenland’s capital. He met locals, visited cultural sites, and shot video for a podcast.

The president-elect posted a video showing a plane with “TRUMP” landing in Nuuk. He praised the reception and emphasized safety and peace.

Trump also spoke with locals over speakerphone in a video shared online. Supporters posted the video.

A source told Fox News Digital that Trump Jr. visited The Nordic region for a quick day-long trip to shoot video content. He didn’t meet officials.

Trump has previously suggested buying Greenland, citing national security interests. He reiterated this at a Mar-a-Lago press conference.

On Tuesday, Trump again said, “Denmark should give it up.”

Amid Trump’s desire to buy Greenland, the Danish king has adopted a new coat of arms that more prominently features Greenland and the Faroe Islands – the polar bear and ram, respectively.
