Godwin Ajezie emerges new chairman Nnewi Community in Abuja, Ifeanyi Ubah hails

Sir Godwin Ajezie has, on Sunday, August 20, emerged as the new chairman of the executive of Nnewi Community in Abuja for a two-year tenure.

Sir Ajezie’s emergence, alongside other elected indigenes of Nnewi, followed the election that took place at the Delight Garden Apo in Abuja.

Reacting to the development, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, in a press release dated August 21, 2023, hailed Ajezie’s emergence.

In the statement entitled “Congratulations Sir Godwin Ajezie and newly elected executive of Nnewi Community Meeting, Abuja“, Senator Ubah noted that the event afforded Ndi Nnewi the opportunity to deliberate on issues that will promote the wellbeing of the people and Nigerians in general.

Ubah, who was unavoidably absent at the meeting but represented by his Chief of Staff; Mr Chigozie Udogu, Personal Assistant, Mr. Chukwuemerie Uduchukwu and Mr. Uzo Udegbunam, shared his developmental ideas with the people.

He expressed confidence in the newly elected executive led by Sir Godwin Ejezie, a group of dedicated individuals.

These. he said, have shown great commitment to the progress and development of the community and in their ability to lead and make decisions that will benefit Nnewi people.

Speaking further, he said: “In support of the efforts of the past administration and the commitment of the newly elected executive to community development, I am putting fresh measures in place to facilitate more developmental programmes to our communities.

“You may recall that I have donated land for the construction of the proposed Nnewi House, Abuja, and through my office, I have also facilitated one hundred million naira for the project’s actualization.

“The proposed facility shall be an ultramodern edifice aimed at providing skill acquisition and empowerment opportunities for our people.

“I am particularly passionate about youth empowerment and ensuring that our young people have access to opportunities that will enable them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society, and I am confident that the new executive will prioritize this issue and come up with innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by our youth.

“It is important to note that Nnewi is the economic and political capital of Anambra South Senatorial District which I represent at the Red Chamber and as the economic hub, the community plays a crucial role in driving the economic growth of the Senatorial District, Anambra State and Nigeria as a whole,” he added.

Ifeanyi Ubah congratulated Sir Ejezie and other members of the new executive as well as all members of the past executive, the election committee and all that attended the meeting and actively participated in the election process.

He assured that he will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the collective interests of Ndi Nnewi are adequately represented and that the constituents are provided with the necessary resources and support to thrive. Read more.
