Legal icon, Chief Malcolm Emokiniovo Omirhobo, has urged Nigerians to go to their various polling booths with guns, cutlasses, daggers, other weapons and defend themself against thugs since police has failed.

Chief Omirhobo made the call following numerous threats by thugs especially in Lagos ahead of the governorship election going on today.

In a strong worded message on Friday, the human rights activist charged voters to imbibe what he described as “Operation Defend Yourself and Vote”.

He said: “I Chief Malcolm Emokiniovo Omirhobo stand to be arrested and prosecuted. If the police is failing to take steps to protect voters in Nigeria particularly in Lagos, I urge all Nigerians who feel threatened by thugs wanting to deprive them from voting and harm them to go to their polling booths armed with 2 by 2, 2 by 4 planks, iron rods, bottles, licenced guns, knives, daggers and cutlasses to defend their votes and themselves.”

On his part, ace Afro Beat musician, the founder of the OUR MUMU DON DO organisation and self-styled President of all frustrated Nigerians, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy Area Fada 1, took the threat challenge and vowed to come prepared and vote.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Charly Boy tweeted:

“Obidient’s don’t scare Easy.

“We will come out en mass to vote.

“Come prepared, protect yourself.

“I will be in Surulere, Oshodi, Ikeja and Ogudu.

“We are not afraid, and no one has a monopoly of rascality.

“Obidient’s don’t scare Easy.

“Wetin dey make these people fear sef?

“We only insist on a New Nigeria where the sons and daughters of a nobody can be somebody without knowing anybody.
