An elder statesman, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, on Monday urged those who lost in the just-concluded presidential and National Assembly elections to approach the court to challenge the results rather than embark on a silent protest.

Yakasai, during a chat counselled political parties and politicians to conduct the forthcoming governorship and state assembly elections peacefully, like the presidential poll.

Furthermore, he urged aggrieved politicians against taking taking the law into their own hands but seek redress in a competent court of jurisdiction.

He commended the manner in which the Independent National Electoral Commission conducted the just- concluded presidential and National Assembly elections, urging them to use the conduct of the governorship poll to address the challenges encountered in the previous polls.

He expressed hope that the election would be peaceful but advised both voters and politicians to conduct themselves equally in a peaceful manner.
