Germany unveils new €600m military aid package for Ukraine
Germany has unveiled a fresh €600 million military aid package for Ukraine, stressing the need to bolster the country’s air defense capabilities.
German Chancellor Mr Olaf Scholz disclosed this during a joint press briefing with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Also, he said Ukraine will receive another German military aid package before the end of the year worth €1.4 billion with support from Belgium, Denmark and Norway.
This will include IRIS-T, Skynex artillery complexes, Gepard self-propelled artillery installations, guided howitzers, armored vehicles, combat drones, radars and ammunition.
“We have now handed over to Ukraine a new comprehensive military package worth €600 million. It includes the fifth IRIS-T SLM system, infantry fighting vehicles, tanks, howitzers, ammunition, drones, he said.
“Next year, we will continue to support Ukraine, we have already included €4 billion in our budget. This is direct bilateral military aid,” added the chancellor.
