General Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has regained his freedom after spending 22 days in the hands of his abductors.

News Band gathered that Tsiga was release late Friday and that he is currently receiving medical care at an undisclosed hospital for security reasons.

Bandits reportedly led by a notorious commander known as Babaro, had initially demanded a ransom of N250 million for his release.

However, it remains unclear whether any payment was made to secure Tsiga’s release.

At the time of filing this report, neither government officials nor security agencies, including the Katsina State Police Command, have issued a statement in respect to his return.

The abduction occurred on February 6, 2025, when armed criminals stormed Tsiga’s residence in Tsiga village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.

During the attack, two individuals were injured, and one of the bandits was accidentally shot dead by a fellow gang member
