Abuja, Nigeria –Abdullahi Ganduje, APC national chairman, recently reaffirmed the party’s commitment to resolving internal divisions and uniting its members.

During Wednesday’s NEC meeting in Abuja, he highlighted ongoing reconciliation efforts, noting their positive impact on party cohesion.

“We have actively reconciled aggrieved members,” Ganduje stated, adding, “These efforts are steadily strengthening the party’s unity.”

Furthermore, he confirmed initiating high-level discussions among leaders to resolve lingering disputes and reinforce internal collaboration.

Ganduje also outlined strategic shifts to boost grassroots participation, prioritizing local engagement in party activities nationwide.

Breaking tradition, he announced the APC now inaugurates governorship campaign councils within their respective states, not Abuja.

Explaining the shift, he stated decentralizing campaigns fulfills the party’s promise to empower grassroots stakeholders directly.

“Our people-centred approach ensures local members lead elections,” Ganduje emphasized, underlining the APC’s renewed focus on inclusivity.

“Instead of the usual practice of inaugurating national campaign governorship councils of states in Abuja, the campaign councils are inaugurated in the affected states to allow for more and greater participation of party members and other stakeholders in their respective states.”

This NEC meeting marks the first gathering of the party’s executive committee since August 2023.

The APC leadership appears focused on consolidating its internal structures and preparing for future electoral challenges by prioritizing inclusivity and grassroots engagement.

As the ruling party continues its efforts to unify its ranks and strengthen its base, observers are closely watching how these strategies will impact its performance in upcoming elections.
