Sotonye Samuel-Horsfall also known as ‘Soty’ rose to sudden stardom in 2006 after she released a well-received song entitled, Malaria.

So successful was the song that she became a toast of parties and musical shows. She had collaborations with megastars of the time, including Akon, Wyclef and Nigeria’s music legend, TwoFace Idibia.

All that happened at the young age of 21, and she took time off to get married and raise a family.

However, she has been on a decline ever since until she dropped out of the music scene altogether.

Life has dealt Sotonye a cruel card. She can barely feed herself and her three kids after her husband allegedly dumped her for a younger woman.

According to her, the man said she was no longer beautiful and was too old for him even though he is older than her by one year.

She accused the man of dumping her after she had saved close to N200,000 in his bank account for their house rent.

According to her, the man packed out of the house when she was with her mother for a holiday with the children.

She came back to meet an empty house and had no choice but to pack her own belongings out of the apartment.

Sotonye is now seeking assistance from members of the public to pay back the debts she owes and get back on her feet.

She told her heartbreaking story to the helmsman of the Lucky Foundation, Lucky Udu, who is trying to get her back on her feet.
