The Former Chief Judge of Anambra State Justice Chuka Jideofor Okoli is dead.

According to a family source, he passed away in the early hours of Easter Sunday Morning.

Justice Okoli remains an icon in the annals of the judiciary in Nigeria.

Friends and family say he was incorruptible during his time as the Chief Judge of Anambra State.

However, It could be recalled that National Judicial Council (NJC), in 2007 suspended Justice Okoli over the alleged questionable roles he played in the removal of Governor Peter Obi from office, a development that was stoutly condemned by the Anambra State House of Assembly.

“Apart from being a legal icon, he remained a national moral beacon and he can never be forgotten because his judgments are indelible”, Anambra lawyers told ElombahNews today.
