The Governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose has alleged that over 200 thousand unclaimed Permanent Voters Cards [PVCs] are being sold to strangers outside the state with the intention to rig the July 14 governorship poll.
The governor, according to Daily Trust, claimed he had information from reliable sources that PVS not yet collected were being sold to people outside Ekiti.
He said APC plans to use them during the forthcoming poll to rig election.
He, therefore, urged electorate yet to collect their PVC to do so.
He said, “What we have found out is that the PVCs are being purchased to give to people not from Ekiti to be part of this poll and they will buy them cleverly and give to people to use on July 14.
In another development, Fayose has stressed that “the best honour that can be done to late Chief MKO Abiola and other unsung heroes of the June 12 struggle is for free, fair and transparent electoral process to become a culture in the country.
Taking to his Twitter handle, he said: “It is hoped that in the spirit of June 12 that has now become the bride of even those who scuttled it and benefited from the annulment of the election, free, fair and credible elections will be allowed in the country so that our democracy can be further sustained.”
In previous tweets on MKO Abiola and June 12, he wrote:
“As done last year, I have directed that tomorrow, June 12, 2018 be observed as Public Holiday in Ekiti State.
