Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has alleged palpable “evidence” that Simon Ekpa, a self-styled Biafran freedom fighter, may be working for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to disenfranchise the South East in the upcoming 2023 general election.

According to a respondent, the “terrorist Simon Ekpa was paid N50 billion to destabilise South East against Peter Obi”, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate.

The first note of “evidence” struck on July 20, 2022, when Simon Ekpa raised alarm that human rights activist and pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele “Yele” Sowore, who is also the African Action Congress (AAC) candidate for the 2023 presidential election, is “planning to assassinate Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

Taking to his Twitter handle, @simon_ekpa, Ekpa wrote: “We are reliably informed that Sowore of @SaharaReporters
planning to assassinate Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to our intel, He has raised number of gunmen & they are monitoring Tinubu. The reason why Sowore of @SaharaReporters is doing this is not known.

“Remember that Sowore is facing criminal charges and treason.”

When confronted by a tweep, Tobechi Eze, @adaenyser, as follows: “Can you stop spitting nonsense. Are you now Tinubu’s guardian angel?“, he retorted: “So you are part of the plan to kill Tinubu? What did he do to you people?”

Ever since, Ekpa has been “indicted” for advocating for Tinubu and reports show that till today, he has a “Plan B” to support Tinubu while disenfranchising the South East, the area he reportedly flaunts so much love for and is willing to take up arms to defend.

On December 21, he released three tweets launching a “Radical Awareness for Biafra Exit 2023” programme via his Twitter handle.

According to him, the objective of the radical awareness programme is to replace campaign posters with Biafra Referendum Now posters.

He tweeted: “Radical awareness for Biafra Exit 2023; Replacement of campaign posters with “Biafra Referendum Now posters.”

See screenshot of the tweet below:

He also tweeted: “The reality on ground, the instruction has been giving. It is called the radical awareness for Biafra Exit in 2023. Please make the copies in millions & let the show begin. We move in woto woto style.”

He would also later tweet: “Join our radical awareness for Biafra Exit in 2023 live broadcast. Today we will focus of the failed state called Nigeria. We can’t afford to wait beyond 2023. Ending Nigeria in 2023 is a task that must be done. Time: 9am Biafra /Oduduwa.”

Meanwhile, Simon Ekpa was caught in his own tangled web when Tinubu’s campaign poster was discovered at the background of the place where the posters were stored.

See the screenshot below:

In trying to defend how a Tinubu’s poster appeared in the background of the supposed IPOB storage, Simon Ekpa claimed that the “poster… was printed at a printing press, a business centre that doesn’t discriminate”.

He tweeted: “What a way to advertise our radical awareness on Biafra referendum. A poster that was printed at a printing press, a business centre that doesn’t discriminate. A business centre that print (sic) corrupt @PeterObi @atiku & the criminal @officialABAT posters. Look how they advertising (sic) us.”

Several Nigerians were, however, quick to point out the “blunder” and indict Ekpa. See a few examples below:

Labour Party frontier Force @udoejiekego1983, replying to @simon_ekpa:

“You been caught pants down. Though personally I never rated you. I knew from the onset that you are a fraud. I hope your gullible followers can finally see you for the fraud you are. Ekperime.

Harmless @Harmless12345 wrote:

“You mean despite the huge funds you and IPOB have amassed, you can’t get printers and desktops for private use? And you have to go to a business centre to print these sensitive documents. There’s nothing like coincidence here, you’re working directly for APC and Tinubu.”

Ben @stbenjaminA tweeted:

“Jesus Christ! So simon ekpa is working for Tinubu indeed? Chukwu! Where are you? So, it is Tinubu who has been funding these instability and killings in the southeast using Simon Ekpa?

Donvking @Donvking said:

“The way Ekpa rushed to defend Tinubu’s picture in the background of the room where they stored the supposed poster is worrisome and indicting. Simon should know better as a practicing lawyer not to respond to that.”

Emir Almighty @Mr_Clein noted:

“You chose to print your “no election” threat posters in a printing press that prints election posters & have them pasted everywhere on their walls. Your men that frequently attack INEC offices & kill our people at random because of elections ignored those posters. You’re a thief.”

Chimdalu Peter Obi @mummyk01responded:

“Oh my God!! I really thought u won’t defend that BAT picture, if u had ignored it, i would have believed you are independent, but u defended it by explaining that “Biafra poster was printed in a printing press that doesn’t discriminate”? Simon, Ajani will take peace away from u.”

Ob_Hexane @ObHexane added:

“Those people paying you to destabilize Alaigbo will abandon you to dance the music when time comes. You are in faraway Finland perpetuating and masterminding insecurity in the South East.”

Obasi Joseph @Ablejoe080 factored in:

“First of all, this place is not a printing press, this is someone’s apartment! Unless you all are blind. And anybody who has Tinubus pictures in his apartment… @simon_ekpa you don cast, no dey disguise.”

While Igbo Bu Igbo @igbobuigbo741 insists:

“Disturbing News. Terrorist Simon Ekpa was paid N50 billion to destabilise South East against Peter Obi. This is their printing press where they manufacture their posters. APC and janjaweed government agent.”
