Ekiti: INEC Deploys Tracker To Monitor Election Materials
The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has deployed a new innovation in the distribution of sensitive electoral materials ahead of the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election on Saturday.
Commenting on the development, INEC said that for the first time, it will be able to track all vehicles carrying sensitive materials to locations real time from departure, en route and arrival.
The electoral umpire stated that all vehicles loaded with sensitive materials for distribution to the 16 Local Government Areas in the state for the July 14 governorship election are being tracked.
The tracking process started with the loading of the vehicles with sensitive materials for the Ekiti governorship election.
During the loading process, party agents, national commissioners, media, security agents were all called to witness the process.
The loading took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Ado Ekiti.
The vehicles were loaded for the distribution and linked to softwares that were activated on INEC computers which will enable INEC to monitor the vehicles as they move to their destinations.

Recently, on July 9, INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu met with staff members of the Ekiti State INEC Office ahead of the Ekiti election slated for July 14.
During the meeting, he admonished them to discharge their duties diligently in order to conduct a free, fair and credible governorship poll.
