The Department of State Services (DSS) has restored the operatives withdrawn from the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

The restoration came barely 24 hours after the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) backed out of ongoing talks with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in an effort to save the All Progressives Congress [APC] from collapse.

NPDP had, in a statement, stated that there appears to be “a fouled and toxic atmosphere and environment of intimidation and threat to life in which we now find ourselves which may no longer be conducive for members of the former nPDP to continue with the talks.”

They cited events in the last 24 hours, “where the President of the Senate, His Excellency, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and His Excellency, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, the Executive Governor of Kwara State , both of whom attended the meeting with the Vice President on Monday 28 May, 2018 ,have suddenly been accused of sponsoring armed robbery by the Police under the directives of the Presidency.”

They also mentioned the scenario whereby on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018, “DSS also suddenly withdrew more than half of all the security details attached to the presiding officers of the National Assembly under questionable circumstances.”

Following the brief by the nPDP DSS, on Tuesday, partially returned some of its operatives who were withdrawn from the Senator Saraki.

Recall that the secret agency had withdrawn some personal security guards attached to Saraki and some other remaining presiding officers at the National Assembly on Saturday.

Five of them have now been restored, however, ElombahNews was reliable informed.

It has also been confirmed that the security details of Speaker Yakubu Dogara have been restored.

Those of Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and others are yet to be confirmed, though.

In another development, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has recanted on the summon it issued to Saraki to appear before it and answer question bordering on armed robbery.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the police had stated that the Senate President was implicated by some suspects in the famed Offa robbery that say at least 32 persons killed.
