The Department of State Security (DSS) has arrested a former governor of Benue State, Mr. Gabriel Suswam over allegations of causing insecurity in the state.

ElombahNews gathered that Mr. Suswam was arrested based on a petition written by the incumbent governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom and addressed to DSS.

Mr. Ortom alleged that Suswam had threatened to make the state ungovernable and is living up to his threat, hence the unbridled bloodshed in the state.

It could be recalled that DSS had last year arrested Suswam on various allegations bothering on insecurity.

In another development, DSS apprised the public of its successes in its determination to rid the country of crime.

In a statement issued at its National Headquarters, Abuja, the DSS spokesman, Mr. Tony Opuiyo narrates:

The Service singularly or in conjunction with sister security agencies embarked on series of operations aimed at degrading or eliminating the capabilities of unscrupulous elements including suspected kidnappers, cultists, fraudsters, militia members and terrorists.

On 17th June, 2018 at Karu Village, Abuja, two (2) members of the dreaded BASALUBE kidnap group, namely USMAN (aka Siddi) and Ibrahim MUHAMMED (aka Ganaja) were apprehended.

Details of this will be published in our subsequent bulletin…
