Defence minister, service chiefs visit Plateau
Mr Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence and the service chiefs on Sunday visited Plateau State shortly after a fresh attack by herdsmen.
Herdsmen on Saturday night killed a father and his son in Durbi village in the East local government area of the State.
Accompanying the service chiefs and Matawalle was the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu.
Service chiefs present were the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Musa; the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Hassan Abubakar.
Recall that Plateau State has been attacked twice within a week.
In the previous attack on Christmas Eve, over 200 persons were killed and hundreds of homes razed.
