CRASH: Chopper carrying Iranian president was Italian-made US model

Officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has said the helicopter which was carrying Iranian president, Ebrahim Raisi that suffered a “crash landing” on Sunday, was Italian-made US model.

Iran Air Force Bell 212, also known as Bell UH-1N Twin Huey, is one of 2 in the outfit’s inventory.

Meanwhile, since the unfortunate crash, president Raisi’s condition was unclear, according to state news reports, which also aired prayers for his safety.

At the time of filing this report, over 20 rescue teams, including drones and search dogs, have been deployed to the locate the crash scene.

Despite conflicting reports about locating and arriving at the helicopter crash site, Ahmad Vahidi, Iranian Minister For Internal Affairs told media that due to the terrain, weather and visibility – “the rescue forces have unfortunately not reached the desired point yet.”

However, Russia has expressed readiness to help in the search.

The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova said Moscow will help in any way, including investigation of the causes for the incident.
