Controversy trails Kwankwaso’s MSc, PhD degrees’ claims

There is a mild controversy currently brewing around the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso over claims that he has M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees.
Trouble started when a Twitter user, Osa Director, raised eyebrows about the degrees on his handle, @DirectorOsa, on Tuesday.
Osa’s remarks were immediately met with several comments either adding credence to the remarks or disparaging them.
Osa had tweeted:
“As a young journalist in Kano then I interviewed and had a copy of Kwankwaso’s CV. He had OND/HND from a Polytechnic. He was simply Rabiu Musa. No Kwankwaso. The addition is understandable. But when and where did he do his M.Sc. and Ph.D.? It would be wrong to pass off an honourary document as academic Ph.D.”

Several tweeps joined the fray at once and poured fuel to the already ignited fire. The following ensued:

Osa Director replied:
“There is no need for name calling. I see social media as an enlightenment platform and should remain so. There are still several unanswered questions. Just one for now. Is Mohammed Rabiu Musa the same thing as Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso?”
