Speaking at Jaji Military Cantonment on February 18, 2025, COAS Lt. Gen. Oluyede demanded unwavering dedication from security forces confronting Nigeria’s escalating threats.

Addressing AFCSC students during his “Nigeria’s National Security” lecture, he outlined strategies aligning Army operations with national defense priorities through enhanced coordination.

Highlighting modern warfare realities, Oluyede stressed that advanced equipment must combine with intensified training to overcome asymmetric combat challenges nationwide.

“Our collective resolve determines Nigeria’s security future,” he declared while detailing plans to forge a highly motivated, tactically superior military force.

Detailing his command philosophy, he prioritized ethical conduct, accountability, and soldier welfare.

Furthermore, he identified leadership, professionalism, and combat readiness as critical to sustaining troop resilience.

Finally, he reinforced the need for collaboration across security agencies, urging adherence to constitutional duties within joint frameworks.

His address concluded with a call for unity in safeguarding national stability.

Building on recent reforms, General Oluyede launched streamlined administrative systems prioritizing military efficiency and financial transparency across all divisions.

Specifically addressing welfare gaps, he prioritized housing solutions by commissioning 100 Abuja apartment blocks for wounded soldiers and their families last month.

Simultaneously, the Army Chief highlighted the new Tinubu Barracks’ completion, which directly tackles accommodation shortages while reinforcing military cohesion as Nigeria’s security cornerstone.

Concluding the event, Air Vice Marshal Alhaji praised Oluyede’s roadmap and assured participants would implement these strategies to strengthen national defense mechanisms.

This strategic overhaul occurs as Nigeria faces mounting security threats, with retrained personnel now spearheading counterinsurgency operations nationwide through enhanced tactical coordination.
