Renowned journalist and publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu has urged Nigerians not to fall to the latest ploy of encouraging President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency.
Momodu in a statement said if such should happen, the situation which Nigerians find themselves today will be much worse.
The Ovation Magazine publisher said Buhari will become a maximum ruler who will now have sole powers to rule Nigeria anyhow.
He further added that it is quite clear that Nigerians have not learnt their lessons from the present predicament tearing the country apart.
The statement read in part, “If Nigerians fall for the latest ploy of encouraging PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI to declare a state of emergency, it will be much worse.
“He will become a maximum ruler who will now have sole powers to rule Nigeria any how…
“It is obvious we’ve not learned lessons from our contemporary history…”
