President Muhammadu Buhari has sought the approval of Senate to confirm the appointment of Barrister Festus Okoye as the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] National Commissioner representing South East Geo-Political zone.
Buhari in a letter dated April 1, 2018 asked the Senate to expeditious consideration to nominee.
Buhari said:
” In accordance with the provision of section 154(1) of the 1999 constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), I write to forward to the Distinguished Senate, the name of Barr. Festus Okoye for confirmation as the National Commissioner representing South East Geo-Political Zone.
“While hoping that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept, Mr. Senate President, the assurance of my highest regards. “
