BREAKING: Soldiers on the run as gunmen attack Ukworji checkpoint along Owerri-Onitsha road

There is palpable tension in Imo State after unidentified gunmen who had ealier attacked a correctional facility and police headquarters in Owerri returned again in a commando form to attack soldiers at Ukworji checkpoint along Owerri-Onitsha road
According to a source who spoke with Elombahnews on phone, the Soldiers in Ukworji checkpoint along Owerri-Onitsha road escaped death as they scampered for safety immediately they sighted the gunmen moving towards them.
However, after their escape, the checkpoint and all the operational vehicles were set on fire by the gunmen before eloping to an unknown destination.
No group have claimed responsibility for the recent attacks in the state but the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has reacted after the attack in the early hours of today by saying that if Boko Haram and terror herdsmen that have wrecked unimaginable havoc in the country can be rehabilitated and freed, that means no single person should be in prison.
