Oil workers under the aegis of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) have been ordered to vacate their duty posts which may result to fuel scarcity in the country.

PENGASSAN issued the cirective in a letter, dated November 8, 2020, and signed by its General Secretary, Mr. Lumumba Okugbawa.

The letter was copied to the Central Working Committee (CWC) members of the association.

According to Mr. Okugbawa, the strike was to compel the federal government to resolve the differences between it and PENGASSAN over matters bordering on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).
