BREAKING: Labour rejects FG’s N60,000 minimum wage offer
The organized Labour on Tuesday, vehemently rejected a fresh minimum wage proposal of ₦60,000 from the Federal Government.
In recent negotiations, the Labour Unions had adjusted their demand slightly, from ₦497,000 to ₦494,000.
A member of the Tripartite Committee, responsible for negotiating the new minimum wage for Nigerian workers according to Channels Television said both the Federal Government and the organised Private Sector had increased their offer from ₦57,000 last week to ₦60,000.
NewsBand had reported that the government earlier proposed minimum wage figures of ₦48,000 and ₦54,000, were also rejected by the organized Labour.
However, the ongoing negotiations continue to highlight the significant gap between the government’s offer and the Labour unions’ demands.
