BREAKING: Court grants bail to APGA Chairman Edozie Njoku, Nwoga
The Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Bwari, Abuja, has on Wednesday, granted bail to the embattled National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Edozie Njoku, and his co-defendant, Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwoga.
APGA National Administrative Secretary, Mr. Okoro Chinedum Benedict, disclosed this to News Band some moments ago vis telephone.
It could be recalled that the court had issued Bench Warrant against Chief Njoku.
On November 28, 2022, however, at the FCT High Court 40 Bwari, Hon. Justice M. A Mohammed, in his infinite wisdom set aside and vacated the Bench Warrant granted to CSP Ezekiel Rimamsomte.
In a shocking twist, meanwhile, in what seemed to be premeditated, Hon. Justice M. A Madugu denied Chief Njoku and Mr. Nwoga bail remanded them in prison as he adjourned the matter to November 30, 2022.
An observer, decrying the remand order, noted that “the conditions upon which both Chief Edozie Njoku and Chukwuemeka Nwoga were denied bail ran contrary to their fundamental principles of human rights”.
At the renewed sitting of the court on Wednesday, the court granted the APGA chairman and Nwoga bail.
In the meantime, Chief Njoku is set to address a World Press Conference by 2:30 PM today, November 30, at the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) Office in Utako, Abuja, beside ABC Transport.
Details of the conference will follow soon… Read more.
