Gunmen suspected to be terror bandits attacked the home of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) pastor identified as Austin Ifeji in the wee hours of Monday, February 17, killing his son and abducting his wife in Gwagwalada, a Mararaba community near Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
News Band gathered that the heavily armed criminals stormed the residence, inflicting machete wounds on Pastor Ifeji, who managed to escape.
Unfortunately, his son was shot and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Meanwhile, residents revealed that the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N30 million for the release of the pastor’s wife.
“The boy is the only son of his parents as he has four other females. He did not like how they were manhandling his mother and confronted the kidnappers and they shot him,” a source said.
When contacted the spokesman of the police in Nasarawa State, Mr. Rahman Nansel said the command is yet to be briefed on the matter.
