BREAKING: Appeal court affirms election of Bello as Kogi gov

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has, on Saturday, affirmed the election of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
The appellate court also dismissed four appeals challenging his victory at the November 16, 2019, election.
In separate unanimous judgments, the five-man panel of the court led by Justice Adamu Jauro dismissed the four appeals for lacking in merit.
The dismissed appeals include those filed by the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], the Actions People’s Party [APP], the Social Democratic Party [SDP]and the Democratic People’s Party DPP].
Recall that a three-man panel of the Kogi State Governorship Election Tribunal sat in Abuja over the petitions.

The panel was, however, could not reach a unanimous decision in the case.
It eventually delivered a split judgment of two-to-one affirming Bello’s election.
