Boko Haram Terrorists Surrender, As Terrorists Attack Formation

32 Boko Haram terrorists have willingly surrendered to the Nigerian Army troops at different locations in the theatre Borno State.

This was disclosed by Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu in a press release.

Among them was one Mallam Ibrahim Lawal who surrendered and also handed over one AK 47 rifle with two magazines containing 59 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition.

According to General Chukwu, the surrendered terrorists are currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authority on completion.

ARMY NEUTRALIZES BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS, RECOVER ARMS

In another development, troops of 112 Task Force Battalion deployed in operation LAFIYA DOLE on 30 June 2018 while on clearance patrol to Anadawa village of Borno State neutralised five Boko Haram terrorists following a tip off.

Items recovered include:

• One AK 47 rifle.
• One magazine.
• Four rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition.
• Four Dane guns.

Similarly, troops repelled an attack by Boko Haram terrorists at Banki in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

Unfortunately two civilians lost their lives while three others sustained injuries.

One AK 47 rifle was recovered from the terrorists during the encounter.

The public is advised once more to report any suspicious movements or activities to the law enforcement agents.

TROOPS ENCOUNTER BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS

In yet another instance, troops of 242 Battalion deployed in operation LAFIA DOLE in conjunction with troops of operation LAST HOLD on 28 June 2018 while on raid patrol at Mallam Kafari, Goni, Alkari, Burburna , Kantanna villages in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno state, encountered Boko Haram terrorists.

Three Boko Haram terrorists were neutralized during the encounter.

Items recovered include:

• Two AK 47 rifles.
• 51 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition.
• Four Magazines.
• One 36 Hand grenade

However, one soldier was wounded during the operation and is currently receiving medical attention.
