Boko Haram executes 3 Christians in Borno

Gunmen suspected to Boko Haram fighters have reportedly executed three commuters identified as being of the Christian faith in Yobe State.

The unfortunate incident occurred near Kamuya village in Biu local government area of Borno State where the bus they were traveling with was intercepted by the criminal elements.

Sources according to Sahara Reporters revealed that four Christians were taken from the bus.

The terrorists marched the victims into a nearby forest, where three were immediately executed. The fate of the fourth passenger remains unknown.

However, witnesses from Kamuya village narrated the chilling events, “Around 9am, the bus was stopped a few kilometers from our village, and four passengers were led into the bush. We watched from a distance before fleeing the area,” a source disclosed, choosing to remain anonymous.

“Later, we saw on Facebook that three of the abducted were killed. It’s heartbreaking. May God expose these terrorists and end their evil acts.”

Reverend Ibrahim Abako, the secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Yobe State, confirmed the tragedy.

“We are deeply saddened by this news. On behalf of CAN, Yobe State chapter, we vehemently condemn the murder of three Christian youths on the Damaturu-Biu Federal Highway. We urge the state government, military, and police to enhance the protection of all citizens, irrespective of their religious beliefs,” Abako declared.

Meanwhile both police and the army are yet to issue a statement in respect to the unfortunate incident.
