Boko Haram: Emir Of Kano Commends Sarki Matasa Adamawa

The Emir of Kano, Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has commended the newly turbaned Sarki Matasa Adamawa, Barrister Aliyu Wakili Boya, for his steady and unalloyed efforts at the mobilization of Youths not only in Adamawa state but in the North East part of Nigeria to imbibe descent habits and shunning drugs and radicalism.

The Emir made the assertion in Yola at the Palace of the Lamido Adamawa, Alh. Dr. Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha during the turbaning ceremony of the new Sarki Matasa in Adamawa state.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi said he had never witness any traditional ceremony in Adamawa state but decided to come for the turbaning ceremony of the Sarki Matasa because of his high regards for youths especially in the North East part of the country where more youths are joining insurgents and taking to drugs and radical altitudes which is a serious concern to all well-meaning Nigerians.

He called on the newly turbaned Sarki Matasa to double his efforts so that more youths will abandon drugs and radicalism to embrace decent living among the societies in the Northern part of the country not only in the hot bed of insurgency in the North East but all over.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi enjoined other Emirs in the Northern part of  Nigeria to create Sarki Matasa titles so that more youths would be mobilized for better living instead of reliance on drugs and radical altitudes of life style in the areas of crime and criminalities.

He said, “If we are to fight Boko  Haram we must start with educating our teeming youths to shun the teachings of Boko  Haram and other insurgents who are causing problems for the nation so that our youths would live descent life styles”.

Also speaking to newsmen at his house the newly turbaned Sarki Matasa Barrister Aliyu Wakili Boya, assured Adamawa state citizens that the office of Sarki Matasa would enable him to build more bridges for youths in Adamawa state especially youths that are involved in armed robbery, drugs, insurgents and radicalism so that they will embrace peaceful living among the society.

He promised that he would be reaching out to more youths to change their habits of violence as a means by encouraging them to be leaders of tomorrow by showing good character and earning descent income through hardworking and peace building.

Aliyu Wakili Boya who is also the Adamawa state Chairman of the Association of Local Governments Chairmen ( ALGON) said more youths will soon embrace decent living in the state as he embarked upon sensitization efforts by reaching out to the youths in the North East.

He challenged youths on insurgency not to listen to Boko  Haram.

He also called on youths to shun drugs and abandoned radical efforts and stop joining insurgents or been used by politicians to achieve selfish means as such efforts would only destroy the society.

He said this period was an electioneering one and youths must watch out for crooked people who are bent in using youths for evil means as some politicians were desperate to achieved their means by recruiting more youths to serve them in violence.

He commended the Lamido Adamawa Alh. Dr. Barkindo  Aliyu Mustapha for finding him worthy to be bestowed with the prestigious tittle of Sarki Matasa Adamawa, an prayed God to give the Lamido more years on the throne .
