Following the conviction of controversial cross dresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State, on Friday, insider source at the Nigerian Correctional Service revealed that the social media influencer will be kept in the male section of the prison facility throughout his six-month imprisonment.

Bobrisky was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for abuse of the Naira.

The court convicted him on April 5, following his guilty plea, but reserved sentence until April 12.

Also, the court had ordered Okuneye to be kept in the custody of the EFCC pending sentencing.

NewsBand reported that there was a slight drama in court on Friday when Bobrisky confessed being a man.

Bobrisky, who has for years identified as a woman, said in court during her sentencing that she was “a man.”

When Justice Abimbola Awogboro asked Bobrisky about her gender in court, she said that she was “a man.”

“Are you a man or a woman?” Justice Awogboro asked in court. “I am a man,” Bobrisky responded.

The judge subsequently sent him to jail and ruled that the jail term commenced from March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.

Meanwhile, a source at the Nigerian Correctional Service stated that Bobrisky answer in court informed the prison officials to keep him in the facility designated for men.

The source in NCS said, “Since he admitted to being a male in court, then we have to abide by what was submitted in court.

“He shouldn’t be afraid of sexual assault from other male inmates because our men can give him protection.”
