Bishop Okeke appreciates Ifeanyi Ubah for commitment to diocese building [video]

The Bishop of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Reverend Okeke Hilary has appreciated the Senator representing Anambra South at the National Assembly, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah for his commitment to rebuilding the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi.

Speaking on the massive project Senator Ifeanyi Ubah is undertaken on behalf of the Diocese, the Nnewi Catholic Bishop said that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has shows real commitment to the diocese.

Bishop Okeke debunked the fake report quoting him as saying the Diocese will not support Ifeanyi Ubah’s gubernatorial ambition.

The report, shared widely on several social media platforms, reads in part:

“As the Anambra gubernatorial election comes up next year, the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi has unequivocally and automatically stated it’s position not to support the ambition of Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to run for the next governorship position come 2021 due to his scamming, high debt profile, dubiousness, criminal and fraudulent nature.

“This was recently made known to all communicants under Nnewi archdiocese.

“It was said that Dr. Ubah hasn’t fulfilled any promise he made to the church since 2013 till date, an act that can be described as the height of inconsistency, unreliable and insubordination in Political engagement and otherwise.

“According to our source , the church, therefore, regretted the facts that their only cathedral was demolished for a decade by Sen. Ubah with a promise to rebuild it under a year but up till now not even block work is going on in cathedral which has drawn back the progress of the church activities both physically, emotional, psychological and spiritually and called on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah to amend his ways before demand for future Political ambition.

“Reacting on the position of the church on Ubah, several prominent politicians have commended the church for standing up for the truth and advised Senator Ifeanyi Ubah to always keep his promise.”

Bishop Okeke, however, in a video featuring him with the Anambra South Senator, appreciates Ubah’s commitment, saying that the Nnewi Catholic Cathedral will be delivered soon.

He explained that the work at the Nnewi Catholic Diocese is delayed, not by Senator Ubah but by the contractor.

He explained that the contractor executed a shabby roof project and that the roof has been dismantled over and over.

He added that the contractor finally abandoned the project which is currently being handled by another engineer.

The structural defects were detected and experts have now been assembled to ensure the building is delivered on time, he noted.

In his words, “Senator Dr Ikemba Ifeanyi Ubah has continued to make his followers, supporters and well wishers proud.

“He has kept to all his promises.”

Okeke assured that the Nnewi Catholic Cathedral building will be delivered soon as work has returned to the site with full momentum.

In the meantime, the 11 storey tower in the church has been completed.
