Bauchi commissioner for local govt dies in auto crash

Mr Ahmed Jalam, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Bauchi State has died in a ghastly auto crash.

This medium gathered that the unfortunate crash occurred as he was traveling to his hometown of Jalam in Dambam local government area of the state.

His driver also died in the accident which happened on Saturday.

The news of his death was confirmed by Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, through a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesman, Mukhtar Gidado.

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely death of the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bauchi State, Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Jalam (Maikankana), who perished in a severe car accident on Saturday, 1st June 2024.

“His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed, along with the state cabinet, friends, family, and many others who were impacted by Jalam’s life, deeply feel his loss. On behalf of his family, the government, and the people of Bauchi State, Governor Mohammed extends his heartfelt condolences to Jalam’s family and the entire community. He prayed for Allah to forgive Jalam’s sins and grant him Aljanna Firdaus”, the statement reads.

Jalam, aged 60, leaves behind his wives and numerous children.
