Online media organisation, 247Ureports has warded off a threat by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu to sue it for defamation of character over an article allegedly published by the medium.
The chairman was reacting to a news item by the online medium.
The said article was titled “Exclusive: Buhari Holds Secret Talks With Sheriff To Push For EFCC Magu’s Guber Ambition”.
The media organisation replied to Magu’s threat in a press statement issued through its lawyer, Barrister Osuagwu Ugochukwu Esq.
Barrister Osuagwu acknowledged “receipt of a letter from dated 21/05/2018 BWALA &CO acting for Ibrahim Magu, EFCC chairman wherein threat was made to sue [his] client for an alleged publication”.
Osuagwu, in the meantime, noted:
“We are still digesting the said letter from Magu and we shall respond appropriately.
