Bandits slaughter 40 villagers in Plateau
Terror bandits have reportedly slaughtered over 40 residents after they attacked Zurak village in Bashar District of Wase local government area of Plateau State.
This medium gathered that scores of houses were razed by the terrorists during the unfortunate attack which happened on Monday evening.
A resident of the community who confirmed the incident said the attack occurred around 7pm on Monday, when villagers in the community were going about their normal business.
Though, they could not report the incident to the security agencies because of poor communication network in the area.
A youth leader in the community identified as Mr Sahpi’i Sambo, who also confirmed the incident said the criminal elements stormed the community riding on two to three motorcycles – with sophisticated weapons and started shooting sporadically at everyone.
He said, “More than 40 people were killed while many others were injured.”
“Residents of the village have fled to neighbouring communities to have a cover. As of yesterday, security personnel had not yet arrived at the community. It was a deadly attack”.
Meanwhile, security agencies are yet to issue a statement over the ugly development.
