Army Releases Names, Photos Of Officers Killed By Boko Haram

The Nigerian Army has released some names and photos of its personnels recently killed by Boko Haram while in active service.

The Army, on Thursday, announced the passing away of Gallant Captain Emeka.

Captain Emeka died alongside Lt. LB Dashe Lirfa Six (6) Days ago in line of duty, fighting against Boko Haram insurgents who ambushed their convoy at Boboshe village in Bama local government area of Borno.

Paying homage to late Captain Emeka, the Army wrote:

“Your sacrifice will forever be remembered and our condolence goes to your family, friends and loved ones. May the almighty God grant them the strength to bear this great loss.”

Another officer killed by the terrorists is Gallant Lt. LB Dashe Lirfa from Jos.

Concerning Lt. LB Dashe Lirfa the Army wrote:

“With Great Sadness We Announce The Passing Away Of Gallant Lt. LB Dashe Lirfa from Jos, Plateau state.

”He was killed in line of duty as Boko Haram insurgents ambushed a military convoy at Boboshe village in Bama local government area of Borno.

”His wedding introduction was April 2018, 3 months ago.

“Before his death three weeks ago Dasher called his military friend, and complain that they lack weapons in their location.

”Report revealed that LT. LB Dasher had survived three full years in Borno state after being posted, only to be redeployed again from Lagos after two months.

lYour sacrifice will forever be remembered and our condolence goes to your fiance, family, friends and loved ones. May the almighty God grant them the strength to bear this great loss.”

Gallant Combatant Emmanuel Okoi

Concerning Gallant Soldier Emmanuel Okoi and his fellow combatants the Army wrote:

“Your Fight Against Boko Haram will not go in vain. Your sacrifice for your fatherland will forever be remembered.”

See more photos of soldiers killed in Yobe after Boko Haram overran Military Base in Yobe State on Saturday.

According to report, the Boko Haram militants were dressed in military apparel and armed with sophisticated weapons.

They got access to a military facility in Jilli, a village in Yobe State close to the border with Borno State in the fringes of Lake Chad.

Jilli village is located 60km from Gaidam, the headquarters of Gaidam local Government of Yobe State.

A soldier who survived the attack said that the terrorists went to the military facility in fleet of military painted vehicles with camouflage colours.

He said:

“There was trench around the base, but they confidently approached the gate and we opened it thinking they were troops from Gubio.

“They started shooting and we engaged them before they overran us,” he added.
