Soldiers of the Nigerian Army reportedly went house to house searching of firearms in Berom Villages, the area attacked by armed Fulani herdsmen last weekend and over 200 people were slaughtered.
Reports said that the house to house search was at the order of President Muhammadu Buhari, according to one Mr. Ibrahim Bunu.
Other reports, however, said that it was the state governor, Simon Lalong that ordered the military to conduct a house-to-house search.
The aim, according to the report, is to disarm Plateau indigents who are left at the mercy of the herdsmen terrorists with heavy arms.
The order followed reprisal attack by Plateau State youth who attacked and killed several Fulani herdsmen after the famed attack.

Confirming the development, ElombahNews correspondent gathered that yesterday around 1p.m. along Mararaban Jama’a Abuja road, armed Birom bandits blocked the road killed more than 10 Muslims coming from Abuja to Jos and from Jos going to Abuja.
“Some people narrowly escaped,” he wrote.
Continuing, he added:
“On the same route, just some few kilometres away from the initial roadblock, same people set up another roadblock along Anguldi and Zawan Junctions, Jos road.
“Many are feared dead and some that narrowly escaped told us that they have seen many dead bodies and seriously injured victims.
“There we’re no fewer than 6 roadblocks along Abuja-Jos, Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South LGAs of Plateau State currently.
“Last night there were serious gunshots in Dorowan Babuje, just some kilometres away from Barkin.
“Earlier, yesterday two Fulani men were shot and wounded by the armed Birom bandits in that locality. They are currently receiving treatment in hospital in Barkin Ladi
“It’s calm since morning so far. The Federal Government have deployed troops with fighter jets currently on the skies of affected areas.”
It could be recalled that the Fulani herders union, Miyetti Allah, issued a statement in broad daylight and confessed to have killed about 200 people as retaliation for lost 300 cows.
So far, the President Buhari-led federal government is yet to arrest or prosecute the murderers who have claimed responsibility for the heinous act.
In another development, an official report said that Buhari’s aides opened fire killed four civilians that were protesting (without any arms) as he arrived Jos on Tuesday.
A Benue State resident recalled that when Fulani herdsmen were killing in Guma, Benue State, Governor Lalong was mocking Governor Ortom, accusing him of incompetence.
Now, he lamented, “see what is happening. The truth is that there is an agenda toward all this killing.”
