Troops of 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support) averted a communal clash over a disputed land between Biliri and Shongom Local Government Area of Gombe State following a timely intervention.

Troops immediately mobilised to the troubled spots on getting the information about the impending crisis.

10 suspects believed to be the masterminds of the trouble were arrested by the troops.

Items recovered include:

  • One AK 47 rifle loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition.
  • One G3 rifle loaded with 21 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition.
  • One double barrel gun.
  • 10 locally fabricated guns.
  • 39 cartridges.
  • Three Knives.
  • Four knock out bangers.
  • One round of 9mm ammunition.
  • Bottles of gun powders.
  • Locally fabricated rounds.
  • Assorted charms.

Members of the general public is once more reminded to report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest security agency for prompt action.

The Army wishes to state that recruitment into the Nigerian Army is free and no intermediary is required before being recruited into the Army.

The Army is not embarking on any replacement of any candidate for what ever reason as claimed by the said publication.

The general public is advised to always adhered strictly to the Nigerian Army criteria for recruitment to avoid being dubbed by unscrupulous elements in the society.
