Being press release by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance ((APGA), Chief Edozie Njoku

Gentlemen of the Press, I have decided to brief you of the latest development on how Chief Victor Oye and his cronies are desperately leading a crusade to subvert the amended Supreme Court Judgment of May 9, 2022; in dangerous connivance with some members of staff of the Supreme Court, some police investigators and some members of staff at the Legal Department of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

(2) Sequel to Chief Victor Oye’s petition against me that I forged the amended Supreme Court Judgment, we wrote a letter to the Office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on October 13, 2022 with the caption: An Appeal to Remove Mr. Ezekiel Rimasonte (as Investigator) from the Petition of Forgery Against Chief Edozie Njoku as A Result of Bias, Compromise, Professional Misconduct and Unwholesome Act.

(3) Upon reception of our letter, the IGP removed Mr. Ezekiel Rimansonte as the investigator and referred the matter to Mr. Simon Lough (SAN) (in charge of Nigeria Police Chambers) to ensure a thorough investigation. By virtue of the IGP’s directive on October 13, 2022, removing Mr. Ezekiel Rimasonte from the case as an investigator, he is meant to excuse himself from this matter, in line with the professional ethics and conduct governing the Nigerian Police.

(5) Unfortunately, blinded by financial gains and inducement from Chief Victor Oye and his sponsors; Mr. Ezekiel Rimasonte on October 21, 2022, smuggled Charge No: CR/12/2022 inside the FCT High Court (seven days) after he was OFFICIALLY relieved of that assignment as an investigator.

(6) Let it be on record that the basis for which we wrote to the IGP for Mr. Ezekiel to be relieved of this sensitive assignment was because we have ample evidence that he was too compromised and prejudiced to come up with a report that would represent the true image of the Nigerian police. Mr. Rimasonte’s charge against me was premeditated. His action has confirmed that we were apt in our petition against him.

(7) Mr. Rimasonte’s charge on me is evidence that he was under immense pressure to complete the assignment for which Chief Victor Oye and his sponsors paid him for.

(8) Gentlemen of the Press, the IGP’s prompt action should teach other Chief Executives in Nigeria is that supervision is key in running organizations. Those in charge of organizations, Parastatals, Agencies and Ministries should borrow a leaf from the proactive that the IGP has exhibited; because those under you have the tendencies of being compromised to the detriment of your position.

(9) That Mr. Rimasonte is charging me to court in the name of the IGP, when the Retired Hon. Justice Mary Ukaego Peter- Odili’s letter of November 7, 2022 letter had categorically stated that the amended version of the Suit No: SC/CV/687/2021; which declared me as the authentic National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was done by her and other members of the panel, is treacherous and subversive.

(10) Definitely, Mr. Rimasonte take orders from his senior colleagues. Therefore, the question is who approved the charge against me.

(11) On November 11, 2022, during his Press Conference, Chief Victor Oye brandished the charge/suit against me, when the Chief Judge of the FCT Hugh Court was yet to assign the matter to Honourable Justice M. A Madugu. This matter was assigned to him today November 14, 2022. This is a testament that Oye was in dangerous connivance with the police investigators and prosecutors to jail an innocent man.

(12) Below is the list of witnesses for the Police in the charge against me:

(a). Chief Victor Oye.
(b). Chief Godwin Udu
(c). Chinedu Anselem Nebeife
(d). Dr Samson Segun Olalere
(e). Uche Nwegbo
(f). Olugbenga O. Owodolu
(g). Paul Bawa Ajiake
(h). Chinedu Eze Esq.
(i). Akinola Makinde Esq
(j). Loveth Egbuchunem Chinelo
(k). S.P Regina Amos-Giwa
(l). Inspector Sule Danjuma

(13) Mr. Olugbenga O. Owodolu (No. f) in the list of witnesses is a staff of the Supreme Court. This is ridiculous.
