Where is Aisha Buhari, wife of the president?

She has not been campaigning along with President Muhammadu in his re-election bid and this has raised concern as to her whereabouts.

But TheCable understands that she is currently in Germany for medical reasons, although her office has refused to confirm or deny the speculation.

When TheCable contacted Suleiman Haruna, media aide to the president’s wife, he said he did not have any comments.

“Honestly, honestly, I don’t have any comment on that. People have been calling me. I don’t have any comment on that,” Haruna said.

Speaking with TheCable on Wednesday, a presidency source explained that the president’s wife has not been seen campaigning for her husband “because she is ill”.

“For about two weeks now, you will observe that the president’s wife has not been campaigning. She is ill and she has travelled abroad for treatment,” the source said.

Earlier in the month, Buhari’s wife set up a 700-member team for her husband’s second term bid.

The large team, mainly made up of women, was inaugurated by the president on January 4 at Aso Rock.

At the event, she explained that her team would serve as a support to the main campaign council co-chaired by Bola Tinubu, former Lagos governor and a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“It will operate as a sister body with necessary legwork and outreach and will mobilise women and youths across the country,” the president’s wife said.

ElombahNews, on January 20, 2019, had reported that Aisha Buhari has abandoned the reelection campaign team of her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mrs. Buhari has been missing in several of the campaign tours of her husband.

She has also been conspicuously missing even in the APC Women and Youth Campaign rally which she is supposed to be heading.

In her stead, it is Mrs. Oludolapo Osinbajo, the wife of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who has been seen spearheading the Women and Youth Campaign train.

Ever since she made the recent statement about cabals running the government in her husband’s stead, she has been found missing on events where her presence would be felt.

At a recent Forum, the First Lady A’isha Buhari, said only two people are ruling this country and that her husband is no longer in charge.

A video showing Aisha speaking at a leadership summit in Abuja about two weeks ago went viral challenging Nigerians to fight the “two or three people who have dominated this government.”
