There was a slight drama in Abuja on Thursday as Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye disrupted an event organised by Mela-Chiyoma PAT Limited.
The event which was tagged, “Unveiling the power of women and food security,” according to the Minister, was held without the express approval and constituted impersonation.
In a video shared by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR), Mrs Uju was seen addressing attendees, saying, “I’m standing here to explain this to everyone. She has been arrested… You don’t use the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs’ name without permission. This is pure impersonation, and the President is not happy about it.”
Meanwhile, the incident raises questions about the use of government names and logos for private events and the minister’s role in regulating such activities.
