Anambra APC mourns ex-chairman, Unadike

The Anambra State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has mourned the death of its former chairman, Chief Ernest Echefu Unadike (Akajiugo), breathed his last in Asaba last month aged 73.

In a press statement dated November 28, 2023, the State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Okelo Madukaife, said:

“Our dynamic chapter regrets to announce the passing of Chief Ernest Echefu Unadike (Akajiugo), immediate past Chairman of our great party in Ihiala Local Government Area.

“Unadike breathed his last in Asaba last month at the age of three scores and thirteen (73).

“He is survived in the immediate by a wife, Ebele, of roughly four decades and ten children.

“A go-getter and an accomplished party man who rose by dint of hard work, reflected in achievements, to lead the party in his LG to great records, Umuhu Okija-born Unadike played a strong role in the strides of APC in the 2013 governorship elections and that of defunct ACN in 2010 three years before.

“He will be sorely missed by the party folks and a cross-section of the publics he interfaced with ,especially in the forum of LG Party Chairmen where his leadership qualities rose and stood aglow,until the very end.

“Anambra State Chairman of APC Barr. Emeka Ibe had at the weekend conveyed the profound condolences of the chapter to the family through his wife, Mrs. Ebele Unadike.

“LG Chairmen have been duly informed to fly the party flag at half masts , in tow with the state secretariat.

“Burial arrangements would be announced by the family in due course.” Read more.
