Mrs. Amaka Ogbuawa, the second wife to the Late Chief Pius Ogbuawa has reacted to the statement issued by sons of the late billionaire, Messers Uchenna Ogbuawa and Onyedika Ogbuawa.

In the statement published by ElombahNews, the sons called their step-mother, Amaka, “adulterous wife”, “shameless gold-digger”, “utterly dubious”, “very dangerous”, “extremely diabolical” and “a thief”.

In response, Amaka has declared war on her step-sons and has concluded arrangement to drag to court over “highly defamatory and injurious insinuations”.

Read her statement below:

Re: Uchenna and Onyedika Ogbuawa press release – a rejoinder by Amaka Ogbuawa

My attention has been drawn to a publication made by Messers Uchenna Ogbuawa and Onyedika Ogbuawa against my person (Amaka Ogbuawa).

Much as I do not want to elevate the status of these two young men by descending to their level by way of exchanging words with them in the public, I also feel an urgent need to respond to their highly defamatory and injurious insinuations against my person for the purpose of keeping the records straight and for posterity also.

Since over 15 years now, I (Amaka Ogbuawa) have been the accredited sole agent in Nnewi and all over Nigeria of one Mr Fang Du, a Chinese national who engages in the manufacturing of sundry motorcycle spare parts.

Every transaction between the said Fang Du and all his customers in Nigeria since the past 15 years has always been by or through me. This is a well-known fact in Nnewi and the entire country.

Chief Pius Ogbuawa ( may God bless his soul) was a well-known business man in Nnewi who until his sudden death was a major importer of motorcycle spare parts In Nnewi under the brand name of Ogbuawa Special Quality. Initially, Chief P.O Ogbuawa sourced his goods from Taiwan through one Mrs Harliet , a Taiwan national. I was meant to understand that the business between Chief P.O Ogbuawa and the said Mrs Harliet was strictly on cash and carry basis.

After suffering incarceration/imprisonment for years, following the feud with an Nnewi billionaire, Chief P.O Ogbuawa’s business suffered a near bankrupt situation as his finances were highly dissipated to a near-zero point as a result of his fight with the said Nnewi billionaire.

Chief Ogbuawa’s approach to Mrs Harliet for credit supply of goods in order to sustain his almost collapsed business was rebuffed as she insisted clearly on cash and carry transaction.

Armed with already known fact that I am the sole agent of Mr Fang Du and also in realization of the fact that Fang Du’s products are acclaimed to be of high standards and quality, Chief P.O Ogbuawa desperately with cap in

hand, approached me for help on how to source goods from Mr. Fang Du on credit. Out of compassion, I contacted Mr Fang Du and convinced him even against his wish to supply goods to Chief P.O Ogbuawa on credit upon guarantee by me that he will be faithful with the payment for the goods supplied.

On the strength of this persuasion and assurances by me, Mr Fang Du through me as his agent, commenced supply of large volumes and quantity of sundry motorcycle spare parts to Chief P.O Ogbuawa under the already existing brand name of Ogbuawa Special Quality.

From the year 2013 until his demise in the year 2020, Chief P. Ogbuawa, a fine gentleman, kept to faith with the payment for goods supplied to him by Fang Du.

Until his death, the outstanding amount due to Fang Du from chief P. Ogbuawa as a result of goods supplied on credit stood at $489, 147 as clearly indicated in the undisputed record of transactions between Fang Du and P. 0 Ogbuawa which even before his death acknowledged with his wife, who at all times was privy to all the transactions between P.O Ogbuawa and Fang Du.

Upon the death of Chief P.O Ogbuawa, his 43 year old unmarried estranged first son Uchenna Ogbuawa and his second 38 year old also unmarried and enstranged son left all they were doing in Abuja, came back to Nnewi with the sole intention of plundering the estate of the late chief P.O Ogbuawa and forcefully took over the business.

Having observed and with hindsights what may likely be the fate of the business in no distant time, and in execution of the instruction of my principal Fang Du, I moved in to recover the money owed to Fang Du by the estate of late P.O Ogbuawa who at all times carried business with the company, P.O Ogbuawa and sons Nigeria limited.

Pursuant to the above, I approached my lawyer Hon. Ikenna Obidiegwu, to initiate legal processes towards recovery of the debt. In the process of briefing my counsel, he informed me that the said Uchenna Ogbuawa and Onyedika Ogbuawa were his clients also and that he would rather bring us together and settle the matter amicably.

Upon the intervention of Hon. Ikenna Obidiegwu, it was agreed amicably that they should pay the amount being owed within 60 days. There was no iota of inducement, cajoling, harassment and intimidation during and at the signing of the agreement which was done at the residence of one Augustine Jideofor (Austin Manuel) chairman of Nnewi importers union, a resource person and an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practitioner in Nnewi, with Mrs. Amaka Ogbuawa being present and also signing in compliance.

Prior to the execution of the agreement, Uchenna and Onyedika Ogbuawa had sought to influence and induce me into abandoning the pursuit of payment of the money as according to them is a “white man’s” money which of course I resisted.

Prior also to the execution of the agreement, Uchenna Ogbuawa and Onyedika Ogbuawa made a payment of $50,000 and after the execution of the agreement, they made another payment of $106, 190 making a total payment of $156, 190 leaving a balance of $332,957 approximately In current exchange rate of N153, OOO,OOO(one hundred and fifty-three million naira)

In the process of executing the agreement, it was agreed that proceeds from their daily sales shall be made to a consolidated account in Access Bank wherein Uchenna Ogbuawa as the 1st son and Amaka Ogbuawa (as the wife) are signatories to, from where payment shall be made to Fang Du through me. It was through this medium that all their payments were made to Fang Du through me.

Surprisingly, and in a bid to circumvent the agreement and scuttle the eventual payment of this money, Uchenna and Onyedika in an act which I considered criminal, secretly opened another account at Zenith Bank wherein both of them are signatories.

Upon discovery of this act, Mrs. Amaka Ogbuawa, through the court placed a stop on the said account.

The conduct of Uchenna and Onyedika in opening a secret account demonstrated to me, their obvious lack of commitment to fulfilling the agreement executed. In view of this, I started making efforts towards enforcing compliance of the agreement on them. Consequently, I petitioned the police who took them to court for diversion of funds and other related offences.

Prior to their being charged to court, it was peacefully resolved that all the money lodged in the said secret account should be paid to Fang Du through me. But in a swift move, Uchenna Ogbuawa and Onyedika Ogbuawa, at the dying minute, reneged on the said resolution thereby displaying obvious intention to swindle Mr. Fang Du.

On Friday the 10th day of July 2020, the police issued them with an arraignment notice against Monday, 13th day of July 2020 in which date they came to court from their house devoid of any harassment or physical encumbrances.

Let me say categorically, that Uchenna Ogbuawa and Onyedika Ogbuawa from their body languages, do not want to pay the money being owed to Fang Du by P.O Ogbuawa and sons Nigeria Limited and they intend to achieve this by creating confusion and unnecessary conflicts and cases as shown in this their press release and other utterances.

It is also instructive to say that when the police came to invite them to the station, they were caught as they were about to elope and inside their vehicles were millions of naira in cash, being money realized from sales of goods within that week, which they did not deposit in the bank as agreed.

It may also interest the general public to know that the duo of Uchenna and Onyedika have drastically reduced the goods in stock in the company’s warehouse through auction sales in a bid to quickly run down the company and bolt away. This is why they rejected suggestions from well-meaning individuals in Nnewi that they should take stock, close shop and bury their dead father before commencing business.

From reliable information, goods in stock in the company’s warehouse cannot presently satisfy the debt owed to Fang Du, as they have exhausted the goods and squandered the money through luxurious lifestyle and complete lack of business acumen.

In the light of the above, I want to place myself for judgment by the entire public by asking if I was/am wrong in insisting that money owed to my

principal Fang Du should be paid or would I rather keep quiet and allow these boys to swindle my principal as they intend to.

Having said all this, let me now in conclusion say that I have never threatened neither Uchenna Ogbuawa nor Onyedika Ogbuawa as there is no need for that The insinuations therefore that if anything happens to them, that I should be held responsible is the highest joke of the century.

I am aware that the duo are involved in a neck-neck fight with their father’s wife over the estate which has culminated into court and police cases with threats and counter threats to their lives even when they have not buried their father. If anything untoward therefore happens, the indication as to where It will come from is clear.

It will be fool-hardy for anyone to eliminate his debtor.

Finally, I have referred to my lawyer all the defamatory and libelous connotations in their press release with full instructions to proceed against them in any action for defamation of character.

Thank you.
