Senator Ajibola Basiru reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to long-term reforms, prioritizing Nigeria’s future over political ambition.
During a recent TV interview, he emphasized Tinubu’s bold, overdue policies to ensure sustainable development.
Reiterating Tinubu’s focus, Basiru stated, “If he prioritized elections, he’d avoid tough decisions.”
He urged public support, noting reforms now deliver tangible results.
Basiru added that Tinubu’s early successes prove his dedication to lasting impact. “His policies benefit the next generation, not short-term gains—we must back his vision,” he concluded.
Transitioning to broader goals, Basiru stressed Tinubu’s resolve to tackle decades-delayed reforms, declaring, “National interest drives him, not personal ambition—Nigeria’s future is paramount.”
APC Leadership Passes Vote of Confidence on Tinubu
During the APC National Caucus meeting held on Wednesday, party stakeholders passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu. Senator Basiru explained that this decision reflects widespread support for the administration’s reform agenda, which has begun to show results despite initial challenges.
“The confidence vote reflects the belief among our party stakeholders that we are beginning to see the results of the reform agenda. There is no doubt that when these reforms were introduced, the initial phase was challenging,” Basiru said. He added that while many initially anticipated a longer wait for positive outcomes, the reforms are already producing visible progress.
“When a leader is performing well, he should be encouraged. The vote of confidence is also meant to reinforce the President’s commitment to fully realising the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he concluded.
APC Financial Planning and Party Unity
Senator Basiru outlined APC’s financial plans, announcing a N30 billion 2025 budget under Chairman Ganduje, aligning with NEC-approved 2022–2023 accounts and 2024 budget ratification.
He emphasized the party’s fiscal strength, stating, “NEC prioritized auditing past accounts and endorsing future budgets to sustain stability.”
Despite short notice, over 85% attendance at the caucus meeting highlighted unity; Buhari’s absence resulted from late notification, not discord.
Basiru stressed consensus on financial decisions, citing robust participation in both meetings as proof of cohesive party alignment.
Sustaining Reform Momentum
The APC leadership remains optimistic about the trajectory of President Tinubu’s administration.
Senator Basiru called on Nigerians to support ongoing reforms and sustain momentum as Tinubu works toward achieving his Renewed Hope Agenda.
“President Tinubu’s bold economic and political reforms continue to take shape. While challenges remain, we are confident that his administration is on the right track,” he concluded.
