Aiyedatiwa enacts N698.6 billion budget for 2025

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State recently signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law, officially known as the “Budget of Recovery.”

This significant budget, totaling N698.6 billion, aims to address the pressing needs of the state.

With the State House of Assembly’s approval, the budget allocates N433.622 billion, or 62.06%, for capital expenditure, while N265.037 billion, representing 37.94%, is designated for recurrent expenditure.

This strategic allocation reflects a balanced approach to both development and operational needs.

During the signing ceremony in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the budget reflects the hopes of Ondo State’s people.

He expressed confidence that it addresses their aspirations and will lead to the state’s development and growth.

He stated, “The budget reflects our collective vision for the future of Ondo State, demonstrating that when we work together, we can achieve great things for our people.”

The governor emphasized key sectors that will receive focused attention, including agriculture, infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and social welfare.

He passionately declared, “These allocations are not mere numbers; they symbolize investments in the lives of every resident in our state.”

Additionally, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that this budget seeks to create opportunities, improve livelihoods, and foster sustainable development for all generations.

Starting January 1, 2025, citizens can view the budget on the state’s official budget portal for transparency.

He reassured the public, stating,

The 2025 budget is a tool for achieving the O’DATIWA O’DIRORUN (OUR EASE) goals, and we will ensure its implementation is done with utmost responsibility and efficiency.”

Moreover, Aiyedatiwa reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering economic development, ensuring food security, building community resilience, and promoting social inclusion.

The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, praised the governor for his unwavering dedication to advancing key sectors of the state’s economy.
