Terrorists have reportedly killed 10 persons, some still missing and four others injured in a fresh attack on the Langson community in the Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attack is coming barely three days after Ungwan Wakili was attacked leading to the loss of 17 lives in the same Local Government Area.

The President of the Atyap Community Development Association, Mr Sam Achie, who confirmed the incident to The PUNCH, said 10 dead bodies had been recovered while others were still missing.

The ACDA president accused the military of complicity in the killings in the area.

According to him, the military checkpoints in the area are not doing anything to protect them.

He alleged that the attack on the village took place around three military checkpoints, but the military could not repel the attackers, but rather the military stopped some youths from neighbouring villages who wanted to come and render help.

“It was unfortunate until the attackers finished their operations before the military allowed the youths,” he lamented.

“The military are sincerely not protecting us as they’re deployed. We are calling on the authority concerned to remove the military from the land.

“The carnage in Atyap communities was a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise the people from voting a leader of their choice in the coming Saturday’s election.

“There are ongoing plans to disenfranchise our people from participating in the Saturday election,” he said, adding that, “the government’s silence over the attacks speak volume.”

The ACDA national president commended the Mopol in Langson community who were said to have repelled the attackers, even as he called on the people to continue to remain on alert to protect their communities and properties against the oppressors who are bent on taking their ancestral land.

The council chairman, Zango Kataf Local Government, Mr Francis Sani, while confirming the attack, appealed to the government to deploy more security agencies to Zango Kataf Local Government Area to arrest the recurring attacks on innocent lives and property in the area.

According to report the attackers invaded the community at around 9pm on Tuesday, shot sporadically, and also looted a shop in the area before they were repelled by the Mopol.
