Activist Paul mourns late Afenifere leader, Ayo Adevanjo, calls him restructuring advocate
A human rights activist and author, Comrade Paul Ikechukwu Njoku, has mourned the death of former Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adevanjo, who passed on at age 96 in the early hours of Friday, February 14, at his Lekki residence, Lagos State.
Njoku, who decried that the former Afenifere boss was his uncommon father, friend and admonisher, noted that he was a fearless fundamental advocate of a restructured Nigeria for an entrenched unity, peace, fairness, equity and justice in his Nigerian dream.

In a tribute sent to News Band Newspaper, Mr. Paul said, “On this day February 14, 2025, our nation has lost a great, selfless and fearless advocate, Pa Ayo Adevanjo.
“He was a patriot and a father to me. I was always in constant communication with him. In 2020, he invited me to his Lekki residence where he admonished me in so many fronts as a young human rights activist and member of Core Federalists Forum where he was also a participant.
“In him I see an uncommon fatherhood, a friend and admonisher. He was a fearless fundamental advocate of a restructured Nigeria for an entrenched true federalism, peace, fairness, equity and justice in his Nigerian dream.
“Pa Ayo waa an Awoist powerful progressive school of thought. we look back with appreciation to God for his life and impact on our nation.
“We will continue to remember him for his developmental strides and commitment to true fiscal federalism and restructuring”.
