The management of Lead British International School in Abuja has shut down the institution following a bullying incident.

This was disclosed during a press briefing attended by parents in the school premises on Tuesday.

A staff of the institution said the decision to close down the school temporarily was in the interest of all parties involved.

Though, this is coming after a disturbing video showed moment a female student of the school was being bullied by her colleagues.

Meanwhile, the management of the school has expressed its disapproval of the incident and confirmed the commencement of an investigation.

Abraham Ogunkambi, the Head of Lead British International School, issued a statement on Tuesday, detailing the steps being taken by the school.

“The school management is treating this matter with the utmost seriousness,” Ogunkambi asserted.

He added that the school has already been in contact with the victim and her parents, offering support and counseling services to help them manage the emotional and psychological effects of the incident.

Furthermore, Ogunkambi announced that the school would provide counseling and impose disciplinary actions on the perpetrators to correct their behaviour.

A panel has also been set up to investigate the matter and other allegations of bullying within the school.
