Pensioners and workers of Abia State Polytechnic in Aba have called on the federal government and the Abia state government to rescue them from a recurring calamity.
To that effect, the affected pensioners and workers have sent out an SOS to the federal government.
The SOS was signed by Emeka Ogbuokiri, for Concerned Pensioners, Abia State Polytechnic.
I was also counter-signed by David Akamnonu, For Workers Of Abia State Polytechnic , Aba.
The statement addressed to the federal government, reads:
“The Pensioners and workers of Abia State Polytechnic Aba hereby call on the federal government and the Abia state government to come to their aid.
“For more than two years now the pensioners of Abia state polytechnic Aba have not receive a dime from the school .

“The workers have been owed for more than nine months now.
“Many of the pensioners have died and others in sorry state while the workers can no longer meet with their family obligations.
“We call on the federal government not to allow its citizens to be in this mess .
“The Abia state government should enquire what happened to the internally generated revenue of the school .
“Efforts should be made to clear the arrears of pensioners and workers of Abia State polytechnic Aba.
