Abducted Greenfield University students: We’ll kill all students if we don’t get N100m on Tuesday —Bandits
Kidnappers of students of Greenfield University, Kaduna State have threatened to kill all the students in their den if N100 million is not paid on Tuesday.
The leader of the gang, one Sani Idris Jalingo stated this in an interview with Voice of America (VOA) Hausa on Monday.
Jalingo said they have reduced the ransom on the remaining 17 students in their custody to N100 million but that they will kill the students if their demand is not met.
The hoodlums, meanwhile, demanded 10 Honda brand motorcycles, popularly known as Boko Haram.
Conflicting reports say that 22 students and matron of the female hostel were abducted while others say 40 were kidnapped from the university’s premises at Kasarami Chikun Local Government Area along Kaduna-Abuja Express way on April 20, 2021.
The bandits had contacted the parents of the abductees and demanded N800 million ransom.
When their demand was not met by the state governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the parents and the institution management, they killed five of the students.
Jalingo said if the N100 million and 10 motorcycles are not delivered by Kaduna Government or parents by Tuesday the remaining students would be killed.
