In a tragic incident, the identity of a Nigerian man who was murdered in Sunderland, UK, has been confirmed by the police. The suspect involved in the crime is set to appear in court charged with his murder.
The incident occurred on April 24 when officers responded to a report of a serious assault at an address on Lily Street, Millfield. Upon arrival, they discovered that 40-year-old Allen Adeyemi Tejan had sustained severe head injuries consistent with a blunt instrument assault.
Tejan was immediately rushed to the hospital, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Thursday. Following the incident, a comprehensive investigation was launched, leading to the arrest of a man on suspicion of the murder.
The arrested individual, identified as Adrian Wright, aged 53 and with no fixed abode, has now been charged with Allen’s murder. He appeared before magistrates in South Tyneside on Friday.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Steel, the senior investigating officer, expressed his condolences to Allen’s family, acknowledging the immense difficulty they are facing in the wake of this tragedy. The investigative team has been diligently working to gather information and piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
